- We meet, in person, anywhere you like, after your initial contact so we can decide if we are right for each other. The last thing you want is a Reverend you hate on a day you are spending a bunch of money on in order for it to be perfect. And the last thing I want is to be away from my family if you don't really like me, because they really do.
- You and your other decide if you like me. You email me if you do. I accept, if I like you too, and we're official! Yay!
- You have already read through my site. You are in the know. You are deciding what you like about the outline, what you don't, and what kind of personal things you'd like to add to your ceremony. You're sharing info with me over email about personal stories you want me to tell for the opening. You know whether or not you want readers, music/singers, unity things, etc. You confidently write your own vows, because that's the most moving part of the ceremony and you can say it to your honey a heck of a lot better than I can. We meet again to hammer out details.
- I write a draft. I share it with you [let me know if you are a Google Drive user!]. You and your partner review it, discuss it, change it, and email it back to me. This goes on until it's perfect. The goal is to reach this point at least 2 weeks prior to the ceremony.
- We finalize. I put it on index cards or in my little black Reverend book, or an iPad [your choice], which I will bring to the ceremony along with the following: a stamp, a nice pen, and a flask [Now don't get judgy... someone almost always needs this because they are nervous, super emotional, or hysterical. I'm not kidding. If you have a request, please let me know.]
- I show up before the ceremony and we sign the papers at some point before we start, and I take the real ones and put them in the mail so you don't have to worry about it. Why before? So you don't have to interrupt your reception, plus it takes some of the edge off of things - the legal part is done, you just have to have fun and focus on your honey for the rest of the day. You're now married!!!
- You get something from the state 2-4 weeks later and enjoy your honeymoon + happy ever after!
How Does This Work?
Glad you asked! Here's how it works!
